Fortis Vision has worked closely with B&Q throughout 2021, delivering more than 50 projects nationally for the DIY and home improvement retail company.
Not only have these projects helped the multinational retailer grow, but they also have helped them realise some of their key goals. For example, Fortis Vision’s work with B&Q has helped them towards fulfilling their sustainability goals, helped realise their business growth plan, enhanced their customer service offerings, improved colleague relations, and enhanced their retail outlets.
While each project presented a unique set of challenges, our dedicated team was able to rise to them and deliver the exceptional standards of quality that Fortis Vision is known for.
SUSTAINABILITY
Our work in 2021 helped B&Q fulfil their sustainability goals. Our team installed more than 13,000 energy-efficient LED light fittings, recycled more than 15,000 redundant light fittings, and responsibly disposed of more than 50,000 lamps, helping lower B&Q’s carbon footprint and minimise their impact on the environment.
BUSINESS GROWTH
As part of our work with B&Q in 2021, Fortis Vision also successfully delivered more than 40 store concessions for their new TradePoint & Speedy Hire services, helping to realise B&Q’s goals for business growth in 2021. These new services enables customers to hire tools and equipment quickly and efficiently, collecting them from one of B&Q’s newly built store concessions.
DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
Our teams also created 11 new Click and Collect facilities, helping to facilitate B&Q’s digital transformation. These new Click and Collect facilities enabled the home improvement retailer to tap into the increasing demand for this service and maximise their customers’ experience while also enhancing profit levels. Due to the pandemic, more customers than ever before are using Click and Collect store-to-home services because it offers a safe and convenient way to shop that minimises human contact. This comprehensive project involved mezzanine strip outs, racking reconfiguration, merchandising and shopfitting works.
COLLEAGUE RELATIONS
B&Q also recognised the importance of creating a comfortable work environment, including welcoming break-out facilities that enhance their employees’ welfare. In 2021, B&Q enlisted our help to refurbish canteens, toilets, and colleague areas across 10 of their retail stores, enhancing colleague relations and wellbeing, which is especially important during these challenging times.
BUILDING UPGRADE
Finally, the Fortis Vision team carried out extensive building upgrades to several B&Q stores, including industrial cleaning, signage upgrades, external spraying to storefront cladding, curtain walling, line marking and car park resurfacing. Additionally, we also carried out landscaping, including tree removal, with the waste from felled trees being recycled into chipped bags of logs and bark in line with Fortis Vision’s environmental promise.
The Fortis Vision team looks forward to working on more B&Q projects in 2022.
