The event, which was contested over two days, was once again very well represented with 60 golfers playing two rounds each and competing in four separate events as individuals and teams.
The golf was a mixture of good and bad with a varying degree of ability taking to the course, and everyone who took part was as competitive as ever. There was a ‘Best Gross’ competition, ‘Best Net’ competition, ‘Best Team’ competition and a ‘North vs South’ Ryder Cup style competition.
The aim of our golf event is to reinforce and create working relationships with our clients and our supply chain, play golf, win some amazing prizes, raise money for our charity partner and have lots of fun in the process. We can’t guarantee quality golf, but we can guarantee a good time.
We’re very proud of our golf event because this is the only time in the year that we can get together with our clients and supply chain en masse and enjoy each other’s company outside of an otherwise very busy working environment. We’re proud of the event because we have raised a decent donation yet again for our favourite charity partner, Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
It was a hotly contested event again this year and the weather certainly added to the battle with the highest June temperatures ever recorded at Forest Pines Golf Resort. So hot in fact that some golfers took to swimming in the lake just to cool down on the Par 3, 16th on the Pines Course.
OUR WINNERS 2023
Best Gross Score – Matt Porteous
Best Net Score – Nathan Robinson
Best Team Score – Team DAF
Ryder Cup Winners – The North
There were also prizes over both days for:
Longest Drive
Straightest Drive
Nearest the Pin (Par 3)
Nearest the Pin (Par 4 – 2nd shot)
We hope we have another spectacular event next year when we return to Rockliffe Hall.
