Fortis Vision have completed in-occupation refurbishment work at a student accommodation building in Egham, Surrey ahead of the 2025/6 student intake.
In-occupation works took place over 12 weeks and included the full refurbishment of 239 rooms, a mixture of studios, cluster flats and kitchen areas – all with new flooring, fixed furniture and joinery.
In addition to this, the team created new amenity spaces including a games room and lounge area, converting an existing space within the building to a comfortable and stylish space for students to enjoy.

Each room had improved energy efficient with a full installation of integrated LED lighting throughout and full decoration works including fully refurbished corridor spaces
This project presented several challenges, as it was a live site with students occupying the building, the team worked diligently to ensure that there was minimal disruption to students for the minimal amount of time.

Rob Ottery, Lead Project Manager, said “The Fortis Vision team overcame several challenges associated with working within a building that is occupied, this included ensuring that all work was carried out with the appropriate segregation, materials and deliveries were scheduled accordingly and that students were communicated of the works throughout”
