1. This is the fourth Modern Slavery Statement for Fortis Vision Limited.
2. In our years of operation, we have developed our understanding of risk and we have put effective responses in place to minimise that risk.
3. This Statement sets out Fortis Vision’s actions to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to its business and to put in place steps that are aimed at ensuring there is no slavery or human trafficking within our business and our supply chain.
4. Fortis Vision is a Private Limited Company which trades as a Principal Contractor and specialises in refurbishment in the Construction Sectors e.g. Public Sector, Retail, Industrial and Education.
5. We plan, assess the risks and organise resources to enable us to take on any needs from the Client and deliver it to a Quality Standard, providing a consistent high-quality service.
Supply Chains
6. Fortis Vision’s supply chain is characterised by skilled technical contractors and trades. We have a number of suppliers and contractors supporting our business all based in the UK. Of our spend too date (in 2018/19/20/21/22), no spend was spent with suppliers in high risk countries of origin (such countries being determined as high risk by the Global Slavery Index).
7. Fortis Vision is absolutely committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our activities and to ensuring our supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.
8. As part of our efforts to monitor and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring within our supply chains, we attempt to establish and assess areas of potential risk in our business and supply chains; monitor potential risk areas in our business and supply chains; reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our business and supply chains; and provide adequate protection for whistleblowers.
9. We are committed to ensuring that our suppliers and contractors adhere to the highest standards of ethics.
10. Fortis Vision expects its suppliers and contractors to implement the necessary procedures to ensure that the principles of modern slavery are conveyed to their own suppliers and sub-contractors. Any serious or deliberate failure by a supplier or contractor may lead to their exclusion from our approved supplier/contractor list.
11. Fortis Vision includes in our Handbook (that all employees acknowledge and sign) our commitment to the identification and prevention of unethical activities within our Company. In our Whistleblowing Policy we encourage all of our employees (and other workers engaged through third party arrangements) to confidentially report any concerns of unethical or illegal conduct within the Company. This is deemed to include any circumstances that may give rise to an increased risk of human trafficking or modern slavery.
12. Fortis Vision has obtained EcoVadis Gold Accreditation. Fortis Vision intends to undertake CSR assessments of our supply chain in 2023. EcoVadis provides scorecards which include scoring for fair Labour and Human Rights; this will form the basis for Fortis Vision’s risk management.
13. Fortis Vision holds Toolbox Talks for its employees and contractors whilst on site, this includes Whislteblowing. During the next year of trading, Fortis Vision intends to deliver Business Ethics training, to all of its employees.
14. This Statement is made in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Fortis Vision’s Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the year commencing 1 February 2023.
15. This statement was approved by Fortis Vision’s Managing Director and signed on 1 February 2023.
