This week, 9-15 Feb, is National Apprenticeship Week – a week-long celebration to highlight the positive impact that apprenticeships make to the individuals and the business.
At Fortis Vision we have apprentices covering a range of specialisms including joinery, painting and decorating and quantity surveying. We partner with local colleges to ensure the best possible placement for students – giving them practical hands-on experience alongside their academic learning.
Marie Walker, HR Officer at Fortis Vision said “we are proud of our partnerships with local colleges and work hard to ensure that apprenticeships are given the best possible hands-on experience during their placement with Fortis Vision. Our skilled and experienced team members act as mentors within their trade, providing dedicated support”
“Regular check-ins with the student and college helps to ensure that work is kept on track and that each student gains relevant work-based skills that will not only benefit them during their time at Fortis Vision but right throughout their careers”
Josh is currently in his second year of a joinery apprenticeship and says “I’m really enjoying my time at Fortis Vision, attending college on a Monday and working the rest of the week, gaining practical experience on roofs, skirting and doors. I enjoy all the work I do – but I enjoy the joinery work on doors the most!
Charlie who is in his final year of a Quantity Surveying apprenticeship says “My apprenticeship with Fortis Vision has been great, real site experience while learning valuable skills from my colleagues – Fortis Vision are helping me build a pathway for my career”
