The Strawberry Line Café employ local people from the community and offer employment and training to those with learning disabilities.
Fortis entered two teams which featured colleagues, supply chain staff and several clients. We managed to raise an incredible amount at the old school ‘it’s a knockout’ fun competition day, which will go to a full refurbishment of the café including kitting it out with a greenhouse so the Strawberry Line team can grow their own produce.
We were proud and pleased to win the overall competition, receiving a barrage of water balloons as we were handed our medals, and at the charity auction, we dug deep into our pockets and received a signed framed shirt of Paul Gascoigne, continuing the old school theme.
There will be some internal debate as to whether his shirt sits in the Newton Aycliffe or Essex office with David and the accounts team, being fond of ‘’Gazza’.
Thank you to everyone who took part and for all who contributed to this fantastic cause.
Neil Anderson, project delivery co-ordinator, had some kind words for Anth: “Massive thank you to you, your team and Fortis Vision for not only coming along on the day and paying the not-insignificant entry fee, but also donating to make the auction such a success. Your generosity was unbelievable, and I know the team at the Strawberry Line are astounded by, and very grateful for, the amount raised.
Fortis Vision are dedicated to team work, professional development and supporting great causes.
