Fortis Vision is proud to announce that work has begun on new student accommodation in Northampton.

A private investment fund has instructed our team to design and build a three-story new build student accommodation block covering some 826-square metres. The accommodation will include six 1-bedroom flats and 28 student bedrooms. Work is scheduled to be completed in time for the September 2022 student intake.

The new student accommodation boasts a central location in the heart of Northampton, just 10-minutes from the university, 5-minutes from the town centre and hospital, and just 10-minutes from the train station.

While the accommodation is a new build, our team will be incorporating an existing Victorian frontage, which will be lovingly restored to its former glory as part of the project. The building is being constructed in a conservation area, which means the area has been designated for protection and enhancement due to its distinctive character and appearance. Maintaining the Victorian frontage will not only add aesthetic appeal but will help preserve the area’s unique heritage.

The project is a landmark for Fortis Vision’s new build sector, drawing on our team’s extensive new-build skill and expertise. The team will be working with several leading contractors to ensure the work is carried out to the high standards that Fortis Vision is known for.

Currently, the site is being prepared for the build to commence. Demolition is being carried out by the Mick George Group, one of the leading demolition contractors in the Anglia and East Midlands region. The company has a track record of managing some of the most challenging and complex demolition projects nationally.

The team at Fortis Vision is also working closely on the project with GSSArchitecture, an award-winning national practice of architects, master planners, and lead consultants.

Fortis Vision will also be working closely with Fusion Build to construct the building’s modular steel frame.
