The full transformation of amenity spaces at a Purpose Built Student Accommodation Building in Sheffield
Working to our in-occupation model, we fully transformed the amenity spaces at Exchange Works in Sheffield.
Exchange Works in Sheffield, is operated by Now Student Living and our team have recently completed the full refurbishment of shared spaces including a lounge / games area, the refurbishment of a study space, laundry area and the creation of a brand new gym for residents to enjoy.
Working with the design team at Whittam Cox Architects, the Fortis Vision team have transformed the spaces for residents to enjoy. Works included joinery, new flooring, M&E upgrades and full redecoration throughout.
Acting as Principal Contractor, Fortis Vision worked with the Principal Designer, client team and consultants to ensure Gateway 1, 2, and 3 approval following our ‘Golden Thread’ and competency procedures for higher-risk buildings.

Challenges we overcame
Working to our occupied model, our team fully refurbished the amenity areas whilst ensuring that areas were appropriately segregated whilst the work was carried out.
Furthermore, we overcame logistical challenges regarding access to lower areas by ensuring that deliveries were planned and scheduled to ensure no impact to the work schedule or timeframe.
